Last Weekend-As-Just-the-Four-of-Us Highlights:
Dinner at Logan’s Saturday night…steak and potatoes did this preggo good. I’m trying to carb-and-protein up to get ready for the birth, when a lot of energy will be required!
Running into Kait at Bridge Street on our way to Orange Tree (that’s TWO highlights in one). Kait is nothing but a big ball [...]

I am terrible at updating on the weekends. Despite how s.l.o.w. they are right now. This one, for instance, didn’t include much beside rest and relaxation. And Mexican food.
On Saturday Jeff auditioned for The Magic of Beauty & the Beast at Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater. He was cast as the Beast and is really excited about [...]

Still pregnant.
I went back to work for a couple of hours yesterday to attend the mayor’s State of the City address, which was very well done. This was my 4th such address to attend and the best so far. He and his team (way to kill it, Blake and Trent) put together a presentation that [...]

My titles are so original. And my posts are so entertaining. Luckily I don’t fancy myself a writer and haven’t called myself a “blogger” in a long time. Maybe posting every day this month will lead to being a “blogger” again. Maybe not. But it will at least be a nice snippet of my life [...]

Today was my last official day at work until January 4th. It was much more emotional than I expected it to be.
We held our usual Monday staff meeting and then got the news from my parents that my “theatre grandmother” had finally gone home after a long fight with breast cancer. Even with those of [...]

I am one of those people that everyone says doesn’t exist…I’m the person who loves her job.
I don’t just say that, either, like many. I actually DO. I get up in the morning excited at the prospect of the planning, brainstorming, and organizing that will happen that day. Even when it’s bound to be a [...]

Tonight while Jeff was working, working, WORKING I took off and met the theatre crowd to see IMP’s ‘Sweeney Todd’.
I love that crowd. Fo’ real.
Anyway, it was a great production. Complete tech, PHENOMENAL chorus, and Sweeney, Lovett, Beadle(but I’m biased), and Toby were wonderful.
Go see for yourself:www
Now following up that with this week’s episode [...]

Long week.
Good week.
We’ve hosted 25 10-12 year olds at our annual arts camp this week. Theatre, music, dance, visual art, and photography.
Long week.
Good week.
My responsibility for camp? Theatre. Basics, with a focus on theatre/musical theatre in the 60s.
And we wrote two plays. SHORT plays. Which we will present tomorrow morning in the Far [...]

Can’t sleep.
To the woman who commented on the blog about HHA buying up apartment complexes in SE Huntsville…I’m sorry you don’t want “young black males with baggy pants and gold chains” walking up and down a main thoroughfare near your house, but your viewpoint is exactly why people assume the worst about Alabama/the South.
Couple of [...]
The One Where I Count The Ways.

the way that jeff works so hard
the way that c is so smart and funny
the way that k laughs and smirks
the way that my mom is so proud
the way that my dad stands by me
the way that meg cries at stupid (and not-so-stupid) crap with me
the way that meg(h) doesn’t
the way that shelli laughs
the way that [...]
