I am terrible at updating on the weekends. Despite how s.l.o.w. they are right now. This one, for instance, didn’t include much beside rest and relaxation. And Mexican food.
On Saturday Jeff auditioned for The Magic of Beauty & the Beast at Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater. He was cast as the Beast and is really excited about [...]

My titles are so original. And my posts are so entertaining. Luckily I don’t fancy myself a writer and haven’t called myself a “blogger” in a long time. Maybe posting every day this month will lead to being a “blogger” again. Maybe not. But it will at least be a nice snippet of my life [...]
The One In NOLA.

Ok. I’m not actually in New Orleans anymore.
But I was. And it was absolutely wonderful.
As Jake said when we got back, everything seems bland now.
I’ll post pics on Flickr soon and link here, although most of you followed us on Twitter throughout the trip too and I put up a lot of Twitpics.

Tomorrow, after work, Jeff and the kids and I shall pack into his CR-V and start the 7 hour trek to New Orleans. In Birmingham, we’ll meet Shelli and Hali. In Mississippi, we’ll stop for a Coke Icee and snacks.
We’ll arrive and check in at the Dauphine Orleans, our hotel.
On Thursday, we’ll rise early to [...]

I’ve been seriously nesting tonight. Made chocolate chip squares for Jeff. Discovered that my version of nesting is making a zillion lists, drawing up building plans (I cannot draw to save my life, so this was a task that took a while), cleaning a clean kitchen, and designing timelines for random projects.
Weird.
Anyway, we had a [...]

Can’t sleep.
To the woman who commented on the blog about HHA buying up apartment complexes in SE Huntsville…I’m sorry you don’t want “young black males with baggy pants and gold chains” walking up and down a main thoroughfare near your house, but your viewpoint is exactly why people assume the worst about Alabama/the South.
Couple of [...]

We went to New York City on Monday.
I’ve been twice before.
But this time, we went. Jeff, Lyndsay, and me. We.
And it was fast and furious and fun.
Our plane landed at Laguardia, we grabbed a cab, and arrived in midtown at our hotel a little after noon Monday. The hotel, by the way, was awesome. Quaint, centrally [...]

When you travel, what kinds of souvenirs do you like to bring home for yourself? I collect shot glasses and playing cards, but I especially LOVE to shop for clothes when I travel.
Is there a certain kind of souvenir you always bring back for a particular someone? Jeff and I usually pick out [...]

I get some time to myself tonight. AWESOME. I will turn on Sex & the City: The Movie at top volume while I straighten up our clean rooms and continue cleaning out our stuffed one. I will make a Target run. I will iron our new bedskirt. I will hang our beautiful shower curtain and take [...]

Things No One Can Ever Believe About My Future Husband:
1. He loves to wash clothes. This is due to his outrageous sense of smell; the clothes have to smell a certain way or they are simply not clean. Luckily, I love to fold and put away clothes so this arrangement shall work out quite nicely.
2. [...]
